The 2024 DfE ‘working together to improve school attendance’ statutory guidance specifies that all schools should have a clear attendance policy which all leaders, staff, pupils, and parents understand.This checklist and guidance will allow school leaders to write and review their school’s attendance policy in line with the statutory guidance.This guidance document has been developed to support schools in creating their own attendance policy.
